Rick Hoffman surprised by 'Suits' global popularity

Rick Hoffman's Louis Litt from American legal drama 'Suits' is a fan favourite character and the actor is surprised by the popularity of the TV show in countries like Australia and India.

"I can't believe its popularity. I am starting to see it in Australia. It is just beyond my expectations. It is such a special place to be when people all over the world enjoy the TV show that you are in. I thank fans in India for being so supportive. I connect with them on Twitter," Hoffman said.

The drama, created by Aaron Korsh, is set at a fictional law firm in New York City and revolves around the relationship between a talented college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams), who is hired by a top lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) despite never actually attending law school. Louis is one of the senior lawyers in the firm, who shares a love-hate relationship with Harvey. In the course of five seasons, Hoffman's character has become a name partner and his relationship dynamics with Harvey have also changed.

Season six of 'Suits', which focuses more on his personal life and Hoffman says he is having fun portraying a character that has become more complex over the years.

"There is more growth. It is definitely a lot more fun playing on more than one level. He has got six years and the writers have done a great job with this character." The actor says he and co-stars Adams, Macht, Meghan Markle (Rachel) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen) get along really well, which reflects in their performances.

"I think it helps when everybody gets along the way we do and respects each other's work. We are all there to do the best we can and when that happens it creates a special kind of experience and maybe that sometimes comes through."

Hoffman has never been to India but says he would love to visit the country and meet his fans.
