Paul Walter Hauser joins 'Cruella' live-action

Los Angeles: "BlackKkKlansman" actor Paul Walter Hauser has been roped in to star in "Cruella", which features Emma Stone in the title role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will play Horace, one of Cruella's henchmen in the movie.

The film reunites Hauser with "I, Tonya" director Craig Gillespie, who is helming Disney live-action take on the 1961 animated classic "101 Dalmatians".

Stone will play Cruella De Vil, the infamous villain in what is being touted as an origin story, set in the early 1980s with a punk vibe.

The film also stars Emma Thompson.

Tony McNamara has penned the most recent script.

Andrew Gunn is producing with Marc Platt and Kristin Burr.

Hollywood veteran Glenn Close famously portrayed the role in live-action "101 Dalmatians" (1996) and "102 Dalmatians" (2000).

"Cruella" is scheduled for a December 23, 2020 release.
