'Pageants can only give entry into B'wood'

Urvashi Rautela represented India at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant

Actor Urvashi Rautela, who made her Bollywood debut with Singh Saab the Great, after winning few prestigious beauty pageants, believes that a pageant might give you entry into the industry but you need to know how to utilise the platform in the best way possible.

In a conversation with Millennium Post, the Hate Story 3 actor said, Coming through a pageant might give you the entry that you require but how you utilise the platform and how well you make use of it is upto you. Otherwise no matter how big the break is, it will not help you move forward. So, it is all about hard work dedication and giving your 100 percent."

Lately, Urvashi was seen playing multiple characters in

Pagalpanti along side John

Abraham and Anil Kapoor. When asked about her experience working in a multi-starrer, she said, Pagalpanti is a full family comedy entertainer and I have portrayed three roles in the movie. All 3 are very different and unique. You can see me as a ghost, gymnast and also a janitor. My characters create mystery and bring twists to the story. It was an amazing experience – right from the star cast, the story line, production house to the script everything was amazing. And of course I really wanted to work with the king of comedy Anees Bazmi. Also when you are acting with actors like Anil Kapoor sir, you have to give your best in terms of acting to match that level on screen. So I only followed the instructions of my director. Apart from that I learnt alot from John Abraham and Anil sir in terms of acting, ethics, and many more things."

In the past, Urvashi showed her versatility right from acting to dancing in different films but she has always been very selective irrespective of the screen space. "I have always been just focused on doing quality meaty roles. As long as the character is important and holds value in the overall screen space, I am ok with it," the actor said.

The actor also spilled some beans about her dream role and kind of characters she want to work upon in future. "I would love to do a sports biopic specially if it is made on PT Usha because I am an athlete and the makers won't need to waste their time in training me. I will be ready before hand. Apart from that I would love to work in a dance film and period romantic film.
