NEW YEAR, NEW FACES

With several films awaiting release this year, there are also many new faces waiting in the wings to grace the silver screen – some are star kids, some are switching from TV while some others will make their way into the industry without any Godfather

PAL PAL DIL KE PAAS

Karan Deol: Elder son of actor Sunny Deol, Karan Deol started his career as an assistant director on the sets of the 2013 film, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. He is now all set to foray into Bollywood as an actor with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, a love story directed by his father. The film will hit the screens in mid-2019.

JAWAANI JAANEMAN

Alaia Furniturewalla: She was born to actor and television show host, Pooja Bedi. After much speculation, the youngster will now be marking her debut in Nitin Kakkar's directorial, Jawaani Jaaneman. She will essay the role of Saif Ali Khan's daughter in the film. It will be produced by Khan and Jay Shewakramani under the banners of Black Night Films and Northern Lights Films.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2

Ananya Panday: Chunky Panday's daughter, who is already a star on social media, will mark her debut in Punit Malhotra directed Student Of The Year 2. It will be produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. Panday will be seen along with Tiger Shroff and another debutante, Tara Sutaria in the film. It is slated for a May 10 release.

Tara Sutaria: A trained ballet dancer and professional opera singer, she started her career as a video jockey in 2010. With popular teenage sitcoms to her credit, Sutaria will start her career as a Bollywood actor with the film. Post that, she will share screen space with Sidharth Malhotra in Milap Milan Zaveri's action-romance film titled Marjaavaan that will release on October 2.

NOTEBOOK

Zaheer Iqbal: Salman Khan is all set to launch Zaheer Iqbal, son of his childhood friend, Iqbal Ratansi. Zaheer, who earlier was a part of his family's real estate business, will now make his debut with Notebook, a love story based in Kashmir.

Pranutan Bahl: The film will also serve as a launch pad to Pranutan Bahl, actor Mohnish Bahl's daughter. Bahl is a qualified lawyer who has worked with several prominent law firms in the country. Notebook will release on March 29.

KIZIE AUR MANNY

Sanjana Sanghi: A journalism graduate from University of Delhi, Sanjana Sanghi was born and brought up in Delhi. At the age of 14, she played Nargis Fakhri's sister in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. Post that, she began modelling for popular brands. Sanghi will now be seen playing the female lead opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Mukesh Chhabra's debut directorial outing, Kizie Aur Manny based on a bestseller, The Fault In Our Stars.

TIME TO DANCE

Isabelle Kaif: Isabelle Kaif is all set to follow the path carved by her superstar sister, Katrina Kaif. Speculations were rife regarding her big Bollywood debut ever since she landed in Mumbai, where has been frequently spotted alongside her sister at major events in the city. The dance film, directed by Stanley D'Costa, also features Sooraj Pancholi in the lead role. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Lizelle D'Souza under the banners of T-Series and Remo D'Souza Entertainment.

TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS

Jhataleka Malhotra: The winner of Miss India International, 2014, she is paired opposite Thakeria in the film titled Tuesdays And Fridays which is being directed by Taranveer Singh.

CHEAT INDIA

Shreya Dhanwanthary: After making her mark in the Telugu film industry and web space, former Miss India participant Shreya Dhawanthary is all set to enter the Hindi film industry with Cheat India, where she will play love interest to Emraan Hashmi. The film is directed by Soumik Sen and produced by T-Series, Ellipsis Entertainment and Emraan Hashmi Films. It will release on January 25.

MISSION MANGAL

Nithya Menen: A credible name in the South Indian film industries, Nithya Menen has given us memorable films like Bangalore Days and O Kadhal Kanmani in the past. The actor will now kick-start her Hindi film career with the space film, Mission Mangal. Produced by Akshay Kumar's Cape Of Good Films and R Balki's Hope Productions, this Jagan Shakti directorial will release on Independence Day.

EK LADKI KO DEKHA TOH AISA LAGA

Regina Cassandra: Born in Chennai, actor Regina Cassandra did her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Women's Christian College, Chennai. She started anchoring at the age of nine and made her acting debut with a Tamil film named Kanda Naal Mudhal and will now make her Bollywood debut with the Sonam K Ahuja and Rajkummar Rao-starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga where she will be playing a parallel lead. The film is scheduled to release on February 1.
