It's a victory of Freedom of Expression": Producer Anand Pandit

Mumbai: Even as the controversy rages over the biggest biopic of 2019 - PM Narendra Modi, the makers have cleared all hurdles and announced April 11th as the new date for the release of the film.

Commenting on this development, producer and distributor of the film, Anand Pandit, "Now there should be no doubt on what the film is. It is a cinematic product. Those who have questioned the film and asked for a ban on it are the ones who have tried to stifle freedom of expression. Isn't it hypocritical that the very people who criticise when other films are banned are now calling for a ban on PM Narendra Modi."

Anand Pandit along with the rest of the team have been fighting one battle after the next - from the Election Commission to the courts but finally the film is ready for release.

With a smile, Anand Pandit says, "Now the verdict will be with the people who I personally believe are interested in this inspiring film of an inspiring leader. We plan to release it across 38 countries."

The biopic PM Modi will show the journey of Narendra Damodar Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Chief Minister onto his landmark win at the 2014 election and finally being nominated as the Prime Minister of India. The film has been shot across Gujarat, Uttarakhand and other parts of the country.

Produced by Sandip Ssingh, Anand Pandit, Acharya Manish Grover and Suresh Oberoi and directed by biopic maestro Omung Kumar, this much-anticipated biopic comprising an ensemble cast has versatile actor Vivek Anand Oberoi in and as 'PM Narendra Modi'.

Anand Pandit is a producer with a prolific list of films. Having associated with films like 'Total Dhamaal, 'Baazaar'. The filmmaker has also been associated with 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2', 'Satyameva Jayate', 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', 'Sarkar 3' and 'Missing'.
