Perry accuses Taylor Swift of 'character assassination'

Singer Katy Perry has lashed out at Taylor Swift, accusing her of character assassination.

Perry, who opened up about their feud for the first time on TV host James Corden's show last week, has now gone into more detail about their past by cursing Swift's popular single "Bad blood", reports mirror.co.uk.

"Well, James Corden makes me and the whole world feel very safe. No one has asked me about my side of the story, and there are three sides of every story: one, two and the truth," Perry told NME magazine.

She added that she wishes she could "turn the other cheek", but said she lets things get to her.

Perry then went on to quote Swift when she accused Kanye West and Kim Kardashian of "character assassination" last year following the fall-out over the rapper's "Famous" track.

"I'm not Buddha – things irritate me. I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I'm also not a pushover, you know? Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls. That's so messed up," she added.

On work front, Katy Perry's new album 'Witness' is out now.

The 32-year-old songstress invited her fans to join her in a "WILD countdown" live and exclusively on YouTube as she released her 15-track LP.

In her latest outing, Katy reflects on the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire the listeners.

The songs in the album were penned by the "Roar" singer and she has collaborated with various artistes on the same.

'Witness' includes the Platinum-certified hits such as "Chained to the Rhythm" featuring Skip Marley, "Swish Swish" featuring Nicki Minaj and the new single, "Bon Appetit" featuring Migos.

Katy and longtime collaborator Max Martin served as executive producers of 'Witness' and Martin produced many of the tracks, according to a press release.

The singer will also embark on her North American tour to promote her latest album.

The run, which kicks off on September 7, will include three New York City shows October 2 and 6 at Madison Square Garden and October 11 at Barclays Center plus three evenings at Staples Center in Los Angeles on November 7, 8 and 10.

Katy will be partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America in a variety of ways on the tour and USD one per every ticket sold will also be donated to the organisation.
