A Gastronomic Expedition

DLF Group's The Lodhi hotel associated with The Embassy of Sweden recently hosted a Master Class with Michelin Star Chef Ebbe Vollmer of Vollmers.

The Lodhi, New Delhi hosted an interactive master class with Chef Vijay Thapliyal in association with the Embassy of Sweden, to showcase the culinary skills of celebrated Chef Ebbe Vollmer. Chef Vollmer is renowned for the stellar achievement of obtaining two Michelin Stars for his exquisite restaurant- Vollmers, in Malmo, Sweden. The restaurant is known globally for its authentic Swedish cuisine. Post addressing the audience with a few words as introduction, Chef Vollmer enthralled the guests with a live demonstration of three signature dishes- Crispy Potato Cake with Smoked Sour Cream and Salted Fishes, Pan Fried Loin of Lamb with Charred Leeks and Pickled Green Tomatoes and a dessert of Lingon Berry Apples with a Light Cream Cheese Mousse.

Co-hosting the event was The Lodhi's Executive Chef, Vijay Thapliyal who stated 'We were delighted to have Chef Ebbe Vollmer of Vollmers join us today at The Lodhi and take us through the making of these beautiful dishes, punctuated with some of his personal memories and anecdotes. The interactive session helped us introduce Sweden's unique culinary culture to a select group of food enthusiasts in the city.'

Speaking of his maiden trip to India, Michelin Star Chef Ebbe Volmer said, 'This has truly been an amazing experience, with memories made for a lifetime. It's been a wonderful few days sourcing for local ingredients to reimagine our dishes with at the Master Class, and everything was made easier by the passionate people that we met."
