Enraged over wrong order, 7 thrash eatery owner in Sarojini Nagar

A restaurant owner was brutally thrashed by a group of seven men in the Sarojini Nagar area on Sunday, after a waiter served them non-vegetarian food instead of vegetarian items that they had ordered, police said.

According to the police, the argument turned volatile after the waiter refused to replace the order. The incident took place around 11am when the seven men went to Amar Jyoti restaurant in Sarojini Nagar. They allegedly placed an order for soya chaap, but they were served a mutton dish instead. They had a heated argument with the waiter and asked him to replace the order. When he refused, the men allegedly rushed to the restaurant owner, sitting outside the outlet. He agreed to replace the order.

“When the hotel staff noticed their owner surrounded by seven men, they rushed to his rescue. The argument broke into a scuffle and the men brutally thrashed the owner,” police said. A case under various Sections of the IPC, including rioting, has  been registered against the seven at the Sarojini Nagar police station.
