Encounter between troops, militants in J&K

An encounter broke out on Tuesday between security forces and militants in Shopian district, police said. After getting intelligence input about the presence of militants in Hef Shermal area of Shopian, a joint team of police and army began a search operation in the area. During the operation, the hiding militants opened fire prompting retaliation from security forces, police said.
