Emraan nostalgic as Awarapan completes 8 years

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi’s action crime-thriller Awarapan has completed eight years of its release on Monday. The 36-year-old Hamari <g data-gr-id="29">Adhuri</g> Kahani star took to micro-blogging site Twitter to thank fans.

“Awarapan is a film that’s very close to my heart. Can’t believe it’s been 8 years! @mohit11481 @shriya1109 @mrinalinisharm #8YearsOfAwarapan,” he tweeted.

Shagufta Rafique, who wrote the crime-thriller, said, “Celebrating my most favourite film with you all on Twitter... Congrats team Awarapan.

“The magic of a film that’s made with a heart and soul. Thank <g data-gr-id="34">you</g> Bhatt Saab Vishesh Films, Mohit Suri, Emraan, Mrinalini, Shreya, Shaad and the entire music team.” Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri, saw Emraan as a hitman who falls in love with a girl who teaches him to have compassion for others. It can be noted that Mahesh Ramanathan was the chief operating officer at Reliance Entertainment and had recently quit the Anil Ambani Group after an eight-year stint to pursue own interests. . Actor Anil Kapoor, who will be reprising his role of Majnu Bhai, also shared the <g data-gr-id="32">fate</g> day of the film.

“We’re all set to tickle your funny bones on the 4th of Sept. Get set for hilarity with #WelcomeBack <g data-gr-id="28">@ErosNow</g>” wrote the 58-year-old actor.

Apart from Anil, “Welcome Back” will see Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles from the prequel. Shruti Hassan is the new addition to the cast.
