The 33-year-old actor played FBI agent Kate Macer in the original film.Blunt is currently pregnant and is expected to be busy with Mary Poppins Returns post maternal leave, reported Aceshowbiz. Italian filmmaker Stefano Sollima is in talks to direct the movie after Green Room helmer Jeremy Saulnier passed the offer due to scheduling conflict. Sicario was directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Sicario stood out from the pack precisely because it a gripping and adult-skewing action drama that happened to feature a female lead in a role usually played by a guy. As long as movies like Sicario are rare, said pictures will have a commercial advantage by their rarity.
