Eight-yr-old found dead in neighbour’s house

An eight-year-old girl was murdered by her neighbour following a property related dispute with her parents at Debra in West Midnapore.

The body was found in a jute bag in the house of the accused neighbour Sanjay Dolui. Police suspect that the girl was raped and then murdered.

A police officer said that the girl, who was a Class III student, went to school on Saturday along with her brother.

The duo returned home from school together and then went to the house of their private tutor, who stays in the same locality as them.

The accused Dolui approached the children when they were returning from the tutor’s house in the evening.

He asked both of them to accompany him to his house on the pretext that he had bought candies for them.

They went to his house, but after sometime the accused only allowed the boy to go home.

The boy returned home and told to his mother that his sister was in the house of the accused. He also said that Dolui gave both of them candies.

The mother initially didn’t suspect anything foul, but became anxious after her daughter had not returned home even late at night.

She went to Dolui’s house to inquire, but found that it was locked from the outside.

She informed the local people about her predicament and they started a search for the girl. The search for the girl bore no fruit and the police were also informed late.

People tried to contact Dolui over phone, but his cell phone was found to be switched off. As a result, they decided to break open the door of his house.

They found a bag with blood stains in a room when they broke open the door of Dolui’s house. On opening the bag, the dead girl of the body was found.

Police sent the body of the girl for autopsy and initiated a probe in this connection. The police are yet to arrest the accused.
