Eight-coach train launched

Keeping in mind the rush of daily passengers and increase in the number of daily Metro commuters the  Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has come up with the first ever eight coach Metro train on Line 2.

Anuj Dayal, chief CPRO of DMRC, said that, ‘This train was introduced on Line 2 on the completion of 10 years of Metro operations in Delhi on Monday. As of now only two such trains have been inducted which mainly runs between the Vishwavidyalaya and Qutub Minar station.’

A daily commuter Ravi Jain said ‘this new 8 coach train will hopefully deal with the rush and overcrowding while boarding the train and it will also give some relief to the commuters on Line 2’. Anuj Dayal further stated that ‘in future more such trains could be introduced on the Metro lines where the maximum amount of daily commuters will be recorded.’ Another commuter and a student of Delhi University Apoorva said that this 8 coach train will surely act as a remedy for ladies as well as there is only one ladies coach in every Metro train and all the ladies try to stuff in there and it gets over packed.

‘So when two extra coaches have been added then a few can even get into those coaches as there won’t be much rush in those coaches’, she further added.
