Educational exhibition organised by BITM
To create awareness among students and young adults and help them develop scientific temper, an interactive and educational exhibition has been organised by Birla Industrial and Technological museum in collaboration with Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata from Thursday.
The exhibition will continue till January 18.
“This exhibition highlights all the inventions that have taken place in Germany from 1901 to the present. It focuses on the areas of energy, medicine, Information Technology, material science and communication in this exhibition. Exhibits on inventions like that of the modern computer, mp3 player, telephone, microscope, medicines like aspirin, treatment of diseases like tuberculosis, etc have been displayed. Each exhibit has a quiz section which will enable the students to take a quiz on various related topics. We have tried to make the exhibition as interactive as possible to attract young students and popularize the different scientific inventions among them.” Gautam Seal, Technical Officer of Birla Industrial and Technological museum, said.
“Students from two-three schools will be coming every day. They can participate in a quiz where they will be given a questionnaire each and they will have to go around the exhibits and fill it up and then there will be an oral quiz based on the questionnaire and the information displayed around the exhibits. We have a section to enlighten students on the students on the various opportunities to study and carry out research work in Germany,” said a spokesperson of the Goethe-Institut.
Sk. Emdadul Islam, director BITM, Friso Maecker, director, Gothe Institut/ Max Muller Bhavan and Damayanti Mukherjee, principal Modern High School were present at the inaugural function.
