Eden to have new drinking water vendor from next IPL game

Eden Gardens will have a new vendor selling drinking water pouches in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches following a court directive, a top Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) official said on Wednesday. A public interest litigation filed in the Calcutta High Court recently claimed the drinking water available in plastic pouches at the hallowed  ground for spectators did not have the mandatory ISI mark on them.

Aniket Giri, who filed the petition, said he was not allowed to have a meeting with the CAB officials, but believes they would now have to abide by what the court says. The court directed the authorities to solve the problem by Wednesday morning.
