EC starts case against CPI(M) MP for making derogatory remarks

The Election Commission (EC) has started a suo motu case against CPI(M) MP Md Salim for making derogatory remarks while addressing a election rally at Labhpur in Birbhum on Thursday.

A senior official at the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) said that after examining the video footages the commission has initiated a suo motu case against Selim. Selim while addressing a gathering at Labhpur said that they would seek answers for every single drop of blood of their party supporters.

"We will seek answers for every single drop of blood of our martyrs. Surjya Kanta Mishra said there would be no revenge. But I am not Surjya Mishra. We will seek answers from the dacoits, looters of public money and the killer of our every single party workers," Selim said.

He said that they would take revenge if his party is voted to power. He also mentioned that they don't want change, instead revenge would be the word that they were all looking for.

Selim referred to the killing of some of their party activity who he claimed, had been killed at hands of Trinamool Congress goons in Labhpur earlier this month.

Anubrata Mondal, Trinamool Congress district president in Birbhum on Thursday said that Selim had lost his mind and which is why he was making such irresponsible comments.

A senior official at the CEO office has stated that entire matter is under the consideration of the Commission. They were looking into the issue.
