East Delhi may face power cuts

With a proposal to set-up an East Dilli-Haat’ near the Akashardham-Noida road in east Delhi, modeled on the existing Dilli Haats in the capital, the BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) has started the process of dismantling and removing electricity towers installed on the Akashardham-Noida road to facilitate the project.
In place of these towers, BYPL has already laid underground electricity cables.
These towers will be dismantled and removed on Tuesday and Wednesday between 10 am and 5 pm. For undertaking the task, BYPL will have to suffer a planned shutdown in the area. Though BYPL has back-fed the area, there is still a possibility that the supply may be affected in the housing societies and commercial complexes along the Akashardham-Noida road.
