E-rickshaw owner dies while recharging vehicle, labourer dies of electrocution in different incidents

Two persons were electrocuted to death in different parts of the city. In the first incident, A 60-year-old man died of electrocution while recharging his e-rickshaw in North Rohini area of Outer Delhi on Tuesday morning. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mahendra Paswan.

Police said that the incident took place at around 6.30 am in the Naharpur village next to M2K mall where Paswan was reportedly recharging the battery of his e-rickshaw through an NDPL pole near his house. Finding him lying unconscious, his family rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police further said that they sent the body for post-mortem after which it was handed over to the family.

Since the family of the deceased have not pointed towards negligence on the part of any civic authority, police have initiated a case under relevant sections of Inquest Proceedings. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 35-year-old man was electrocuted to death after he accidentally stepped on a wire connected to the AC in a house in West Delhi’s Mianwali Nagar area on Monday night. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Muneshwar Kumar.

Police said that the incident took place at around 11.30 pm at Indira Colony where Muneshwar along with his brother had stepped out of their house. Labourers, Muneshwar along with his brother had gone to a house to carry out some repair work in a house when Muneshwar accidentally stepped on a live wire coming from the AC and got electrocuted.

His brother rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Meanwhile, senior police officers of the West district said that they have registered a case under Sections 304 A (causing death due to negligence) of the IPC at the Mianwali Nagar police station against unknown persons.
