DUTA members protest outside V-C office

The Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) held a sit-in demonstration outside vice- chancellor Dinesh Singh’s office seeking appointments to the 4,000-plus vacant teaching posts on Wednesday.

DUTA president Amar Deo Sharma said, ‘We have sparked off this protest against the varsity authorities’ failure to start permanent appointments to the 4,000-plus vacant teaching posts as well as its inability to implement the 2006 UGC Guidelines on Reservations for teaching posts.’

‘Despite assuring teachers that permanent appointments will be started before the commencement of the new academic session, not a single concrete step in this direction has been
taken by the administration,’ he added.
