DU’s sixth list out, major colleges still have seats

Even after rounds of admissions in Delhi University’s four year undergraduate programme (FYUP) seats are still available in various colleges of the varsity.

In sixth cut-off list, seats are still available in various prestigious colleges. The required cut-offs have been brought down drastically to fill the vacant seats. Admissions based on the latest cut off list will begin from Monday.

According to the list, seats for Commerce in general category are still available in 17 colleges including Hansraj, Gargi and Kamala Nehru. Seats are also available for the Economics programme in around 11 colleges of the varsity. However, the sixth cut-off list saw a drop of only 0.5 percentage points for Economics.

Colleges such as Miranda House, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dyal Singh College also have opened admission for Economics after it was declared closed in the fifth list.

The courses for general category students are still open in Bharti College, Gargi College, Hansraj College, Kalindi College, Kamala Nehru College as well as Miranda House. Though in Science courses most colleges have closed admissions for the general category candidates, seats are vacant for reserved category students. In the Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) courses also admissions are still open in reserved categories.

The admission for the sixth list will close on 17 July. The university will reopen on 24 July after the summer vacations.
