Duo ‘detained’ over NIA DSP Tanzil’s murder

It was a contract killing over a property dispute and the Uttar Pradesh police have allegedly cracked the case of the sensational murder of Tanzil Ahmed, who was DSP in NIA.  Cops have detained two persons out of which one is a sharp shooter, and another Ahmed’s relative. Property dispute with his relatives is allegedly the reason behind his murder and the terror angle has been ruled out.  A highly placed source confirmed that the accused persons are from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Both the accused are being intensively quizzed, the source added.

The weapons were purchased from Munger, and a sharp shooter was hired. The motor-bike used in the crime scene has also been recovered. Millennium Post was first to report the property dispute behind Ahmed’s killing. The plot to eliminate Ahmed was hatched two months back, the source claimed.

Ahmed was ambushed by two armed assailants in Bijnor while he was returning to his residence in Delhi. He was shot 21 times from close range while his wife received four gun shot injuries and both their children had a narrow escape in the wee hours of Sunday.
