DU to conduct ‘Open Day’ for admission counselling

The Delhi University’s counselling sessions for undergraduate admission is likely to begin from Wednesday. Students and parents can seek answers to their queries about the admission process for the 2016-17 academic session.

In order to guide the applicants about the idea of admission, every year DU conducts ‘Open Days’ before the admission process begins for its undergraduate courses.

“The session will be held for two days from 10 am to 1 pm in the varsity’s Conference Hall in North Campus,” a source said. DU is also mulling to make recordings of these sessions available online so the prospective students who are unable to visit the campus can now turn to its website for clearing any doubts regarding the process.

“The varsity has also prepared a set of answers based on queries from students in previous years,” he added. The registration process for non-entrance courses of around 56,000 seats across DU colleges is set to begin from May 25 or 28 and will conclude on June 14. For the academic session 2016-17 the Delhi University (DU) is going to completely withdraw the offline admission facility.
In another major decision, the university administration has also decided that after five admission lists, if seats remain vacant, fresh registration of the applicants will be done directly in the colleges where seats remain vacant.
