DU student vies for world record for longest piano recital

After registering his name in Limca Book of records for the longest piano recital of 52 hours, Delhi University student Mritunjay Sharma is now vying to make an entry in the Guinness World Book of Records. Sharma, a B.Com student at Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), has been playing on his synthesiser since October 11 at the college auditorium. “The entire performance is being recorded on video, and would be sent to Guinness World Records for evaluation. While Guinness officials haven’t been able to make it to the event, independent observers have been watching Sharma’s performance over the past seven days,” a senior official said. The current record for the longest piano recital is in name of Polish pianist Romuald Koperski who played the instrument for 103 hours. Sharma has already played for over 104 hours but it will be on till October 18 following which the entry will be sent to Guinness World Book of Records.
