DU student alleges rape

A Delhi university student has claimed that she was raped several times by her live-in partner in Shakarpur, east Delhi. The accused has been nabbed by Delhi police within few hours of the complaint.
According to the police, the 23-year-old girl met Rahul Kashyap, 25, in March 2012 in a private firm at Laxmi Nagar, where she had worked part time job. She is a final year student of the Delhi university and resides at Shakarpur.
Kashyap left the company and started a consultancy. He gave a job to the girl at his consultancy and started meeting her often. After a while, the girl started living with the accused. Kashyap had sex with her after promising marriage.
Recently, Kashyap refused to marry the girl. On 7 January, the girl went to Shakarpur police station and lodged a complaint against Kashyap.
‘The medical test of the girl was conducted at Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital and the reports confirmed rape,’ the official added.
He said, ‘After receiving the confirmation of rape in her reports, we have arrested Kashyap. A rape case has been registered against him.’
