DU open learning forms from Friday

The Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU SOL) will start its admission process for the 2012-13 academic session in Friday. The admission forms will be available from 1 June and the last date for admission, without late fee, is 31 July.

The SOL, for the first time, will offer the facility of online admission for its UG courses. Aspirants will have the facility to download and submit application form on the SOL website.

Aspirants can also get admission by paying a late fee of Rs 200 from 1 August to 14 September. The SOL is offering five under graduate courses courses, which includes BA (H) English, political science, BA programme, BCom and BCom (H).

HC Pokhriyal, Executive director, SOL said since most students come from the far off areas, the facility will help the students immensely. Also the online system is expected to ease the rush at SOL counters during admissions.

Students of the National Institute of open School (NIOS) and Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE)  need not even required to submit any documents for the online admission process as it has been made completely automated.

Pokhriyal further said that the students can upload their photographs, signature and other details online. SOL has access to the CBSE data and that they will get to know about their CBSE board exam performance.

Hence, the admissions will be done completely online thereby saving the time and money of aspirants, he said.
