DU introduces Transcript Format mark-sheets to help students

Delhi University’s examination department has come up with a student-friendly mark-sheet, titled Transcript Format.

Satish Kumar, officer on special duty (OSD) of the examination department of the university said, 'For the convenience of students, the examination department of Delhi University has changed  the format of the mark-sheet.

Under the new Transcript Format we will  mention the name of the subject along with the paper code of that subject.

‘Apart from this, the mark-sheet will also mention the pass marks for each subject.'
Kumar added, ‘We have also decided to mention the marks scored by the students in each subject for each semester in the mark-sheet.

‘If students feel there is any inconsistency regarding the marks scored, they can send an email or call at a number which is mentioned on the new pattern mark-sheet. This was not available on the old mark-sheets.'

The OSD also said that earlier, after results were announced, it would take more than a week for mark-sheets to be issued. This would cause harassment to the students.

'Last year we had assured everyone that mark-sheets would be issued on the day results were declared,' said Kumar.

Jaskaran Ahuja, a commerce student who recently received the new-format mark-sheet said, 'The new format of the mark-sheet mentions all details that a student needs to know. The new system will also help speed up re-evaluation and other marks-related or result-related problems that we sometimes face after results are declared.'
