DTU’s placement season off to a flying start

The placement procedure that began on 1 August at Delhi Technological University (DTU) has made a good start for the academic session 2013-14. Goldman Sachs has offered a package of Rs 28 lakh package to a student from DTU, while Amazon has
offered Rs 21 lakh.

Placement officer Neeraj Nimwal said, ‘DTU has booked dates for placements for more than 35 companies till 10 September.’ ‘The campus placements will continue till April 2014. The companies for which the dates have already been booked include Directi, Walmart, Microsoft, Maruti, Deloitte, Adobe, Samsung, Cisco, Mckinsey, Oracle, officials said.

‘DTU has a strong focus on industry relevance for its educational and research programmmes. Our educational strategy provides for the troika of education, research and innovations right from Under Graduate education onwards. This way we equip our students with the wings of knowledge and power of innovation that are needed for excelling in the industry,’ Prof PB Sharma, vice-chancellor DTU said.

Ruchika Malhotra media coordinator of DTU said, ‘Last year for 2012-13, DTU students had received 980 job offers from 176 companies. This year with the impressive start already made the university shall cross last year’s milestone and achieve the target of over 1,000 job offers for its UG and PG graduating batch.’
