DTC suspends four permanent employees for wasting time during duty hours

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on Wednesday suspended four of its permanent employees and issued show-cause notice to another four contractual workers for “wasting time” during duty hours and “unscheduled parking” of buses.

Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai has sought a report from the DTC over the issue.

An official of DTC said that employees from Sukhdev Vihar depot and Tekhand Depot were found indulging in misconduct during a surprise check by the Managing Director of DTC in south Region.

The official said that DTC drivers Rambir Singh, Harkesh, Suresh Kumar and a conductor Indarjeet Singh were allegedly wasting time during duty hours and had parked their buses unscheduled at ESI Hospital near Tekhand Depot.

“Gross misconduct on the part of crew, the following permanent employees have been placed under suspension with immediate effect,” an official said.

DTC also issued show-cause notice to four contractual staff, all from Tekhand Depot, for removal from the service and termination of their contract, officials added.

“Managing Director has given a clear cut massage to all employees that any such misconduct will not be tolerated, Minhas said.
