A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus driver accidentally opened fire while showing off his newly-acquired pistol to his friends on Thursday.
The incident took place at the administrative branch, room number 208 of DTC’s Indraprasth headquarter at approximately 11.30 am.
Nobody was injured in the incident as the bullet hit a wardrobe kept in the room. The accused has been identified as Sunil, who has been working as a bus driver in the corporation for more than 20 years. Police has filed an FIR in the case.
‘The accused is absconding. We have registered the case under appropriate sections of IPC( Indian Penal Code). So far it seems to be a case of ignorance and carelessness’ said an official investigating the case.
