Dreaded criminal killed in encounter with cops in Outer Delhi

In a deadly encounter between a team of Delhi Police and a few dreaded criminals of the Outer district, Delhi Police claimed to have shot dead a proclaimed offender in cross-firing between both the sides.

According to the senior police officers of the Outer district, one of the dreaded criminals, a native of Karala Village, Abhishek, was fleeing after stealing a vehicle with one of his accomplices. He was known for committing crimes such as robberies, snatchings and other heinous crimes in Outer and North-west districts. Sources said that the family members and locals of the Karala village staged a protest against the death of Abhishek whom they alleged was murdered by the police.

Police, meanwhile, clarified that accused Abhishek had died due to retaliatory gun fire after the criminals opened fire at the police. Police said that the incident took place at around 4 am at the Dwarka Mod area when Vishal, driver of Honda Mobilio, working with a private firm in Gurgaon had gone to drop off the employees. In the meantime, he went off with the vehicle to receive another employee. At that time, a group of three unidentified masked men approached him, pointed a pistol at him and abducted him in the same vehicle.

Few minutes later, they dumped Vishal at an isolated spot in Uttam Nagar. After which Vishal informed one of the relatives who further informed the Uttar Nagar police station.

Sources said that Vishal told cops that the Honda Mobilio had GPRS system installed in it. Based on this, the cops managed to trace the location of the car in Kanjhawala.

A team of police then went to the spot from where the car was crossing. When we told the accused to stop, they tried to speed off. That was when we chased them. It was only when they opened fire that we retaliated. In the firing, Abhishek suffered bullet injuries.

The accused still managed to flee from the spot. It was only later that the police team got a call from Savitri hospital that one Abhishek has been left by unknown persons outside the hospital with bullet injuries.
