Drama on life and teachings of Sant Kabir to be staged today

At a time when intolerance is increasing in the country and has affected society adversely, a drama on the life and teaching of Sant Kabir will be staged in the city on Thursday.

It may be recalled that a musical soiree by Gulam Ali was held in the city following an initiative taken by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

She said over and gain that the city would not tolerate any force that would try to divide society. She said religious tolerance was West Bengal’s culture and under no circumstances this rich cultural heritage would be destroyed.

The play entitled ‘Kabira Khada Bazar Mein’ has been written by veteran playwright Bhisham Sahni.

The play, which will take place at Gyan Manch, has been directed by SM Azar Alam.

The play has been organised by Little Thespian, the city’s only national character Hindi/Urdu theatre group.
