German football club Borussia Dortmund extended their unbeaten run to 27 matches following a thumping 5-2 win over relegated team Kaiserslautern in the 33rd round of Bundesliga.
The newly crowned Bundesliga champions earned their first away win at Fritz Walter Stadium in 11 years on Saturday owing to a hat-trick from striker Lucas Barrios.
Dortmund defender Felipe Santana opened the scoring for the hosts when he inadvertently deflected a diagonal pass into his own goal in the 16th minute.
Kaiserslautern's joy was shortlived as Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios levelled the score as he headed home a cross from defender Patrick Owomoyela, Xinhua reported.
Barrios extended the lead to 2-1 when he again found the back of the net in the 26th minute. Dortmund pressed Kaiserslautern into defence which gave ample space to young midfielder Mario Goetze who made it 3-1.
Four minutes into the second half, Kaiserslautern midfielder Pierre de Wit shortened the score to 2-3 but Barrios wrapped his hat-trick in the 55th minute and Perisic completed the rout with a 78th-minute goal.
Dortmund are on top position with 78 points while Kaiserslautern will be relegated into second division with 23 points out of 33 matches.
