‘Don’t want to miss chance to back good projects’

Bollywood Producer Sajid Nadiadwala says he doesn’t want to lose the opportunity to back interesting projects.

He has produced hit films like Highway, 2 States, Heropanti and others. He has interesting range of films lined up for release, including Saif Ali Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Phantom, Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone’s Tamasha, Vishal Bharadwaj's Rangoon, Housefull 3 and others.

“It is difficult to greenlight films now after Highway.

I don't want to lose an opportunity to tell an interesting story. I am thankful to Kabir Khan (director) for this film (Phantom) and to Katrina and Saif for endorsing it,” Sajid told reporters here last evening at the trailer launch of Phantom. 

Phantom is based on Hussain Zaidi’s novel Mumbai Avengers set in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and deals with global terrorism. The film is set to release on August 28. 

After Phantom big films like John Abraham’s Welcome Back, Salman Khan’s home production Hero and others are releasing back to back.

Talking about this box office competition, Sajid said, “We have only 52 weeks, there is one Christmas, Eid, Diwali and some other festive times. We are releasing our film on Raksha Bandhan... we hope Raksha Bandhan humari film ki Raksha karegi (we hope festival of Raksha Bandhan shields our film).” 

Sajid has always been interested in different films and has made a mark by supporting unique and different projects. Most of  his produced films are acclamied by critics and have also received various awards.
