Don’t get worried with failures: Rohit

Rohit Sharma is often criticised for not doing justice to his rich talent. The stylish batsman has countered the criticism, saying he doesn’t get bothered by a handful of failures. ‘I do not get worried too much with a few failures,’ Sharma was quoted as saying by IPLT20.com after guiding Mumbai Indians to a big win over Delhi Daredevils at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday night.

Sharma struck form in the sixth IPL by smashing 74 runs off 50 balls (4x4, 5x6)and shared a match-winning 132-run stand with Dinesh Karthik, who made 86 off 48 balls. Prior to Tuesday, Sharma had made 11 and 8.

‘This is a format where you need a little bit of time to get into the groove and then score freely. This is my style of playing, this is the way I play and I am glad that I have got some runs and was at the winning side. I am happy with my performance and I look forward to continuing this,’ he said.

On his partnership with Karthik, Sharma said: ‘We just wanted to stick in there. We knew it was a good wicket to bat on. We just needed a big partnership and we got a crucial hundred-plus partnership which is very crucial in this format of the game.’

‘Dinesh has been batting really well, so my job initially was to just rotate the strike and let him play as much as possible. I am glad that I finished off really well after his departure,’ added Sharma.
