The information reached the Shakti Vahini NGO through a call on a helpline number that was made by the neighbours as they saw her getting tortured by the family. The NGO with the help of the city police raided the house around 5:30 pm, but the minor was nowhere to be found. An hour later the police received a similar complaint on the helpline number. This time, the girl was found locked in an almirah of a back room.

It was after the second call that the NGO had received and the girl was found during the second round of raid. The girl was found in an unconscious state when she was rescued”, said Rishikant of Shakti Vahini.

So in order to save themselves they had tied and locked the girl in an almirah.

The cuts on the girl’s body appeared fresh and the girl’s body was very weak because she had not eaten anything, said Shakuntala Dhull, Chairperson, CWC, Gurgaon. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has also been informed and the NGO has been asked to submit a report of the incident on Thursday.
