Dolling up for class

With university cut-off lists send temperatures and heartbeats soaring, here's something to look forward to - the first day of college. While you can add on a few nice togs to your wardrobe girls can well do with some make-up tips for the new term. Makeup Expert Nidhi Khurana of Brush strokes by Nidhi gives us her to-do list to pretty up for college:

Before applying any kind of make-up, it’s essential to keep your face clean. If you have an oily skin, then use a face wash that keeps your skin oil-free all day long. A beauty regime is vital.

  •  It's important to apply a sunscreen, especially if your skin is prone to dark spots and hyper pigmentation.
  •  Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your tone to hide dark circles.
  •  Girls with oily skins should apply compact powder. Conversely, girls with drier skin should apply foundation.
  •  For me, eye shadow is a big no, as far as going to college is concerned. It should only be limited for evenings. Instead, wear en eye-liner that will do the job perfectly. Colours such as black, navy blue, green steal look great!
  •  Apply blush on the apple of your cheeks. Smile, blend and apply in circular motions.
  •  Mascara looks great too, as it gives depth to your lashes.
  •  When it comes to lips, I find clear gloss to be a total stunner!
  • And here's the last thing you need to keep in mind when applying make-up, it's very important to find out your skin tone and the colour that suits you. So pick out your clothes and pretty up!
