Doc, father thrashed in Krishna Nagar

In yet another incident of road rage in the Capital, a 37-year-old doctor, his father and assistant were allegedly thrashed by a group of nine unidentified men in East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar area on Thursday evening. Police said a team was formed to nab the miscreants, who were at large.

A police official, investigating the case, said the incident took place around 5:45 pm on Thursday when Dr Manoj Aggarwal, who runs a child clinic in Shahdara, was was going to his clinic with his assistant and 68-year-old father in their car.

Police said two men on a two-wheeler, who were speeding, hit the victims’ car. When Dr Aggarwal protested, the assailants abused him and asked him to park his car on the side.

The official added the assailants were on a scooty. “They got down from the scooty, walked down to the doctor’s car and thrashed him and his assistant. As per the doctor’s complaint, initially, there were only two persons. The assailants then called their friends, who joined them in thrashing the doctor and his assistant.”

Dr Aggarwal alleged in his complaint that one of the accused slapped him so hard that he was unable to hear properly in the right ear. “One of them brutally thrashed my father and assistant Vimal as well. They even abused and threatened us of dire consequences, if we complained to the police,” he told the police.

An FIR has been registered at the Krishna Nagar police station.
