DJB to launch app to pay water bill

Soon consumers can generate their own water bills and submit it to Delhi Jal Board through their mobile phones. In a unique experiment the Delhi government is going to launch a mobile app to provide the facility to the water consumers in the city.

“We will launch the app on November 10 which will allow the registered consumers to generate their water bills by just submitting the readings,” said Kapil Mishra, Delhi’s power minister and Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board. 

“We are taking this initiative to sort out complaints related to inflated water bills for which people are forced to run from pillar to post,” added the minister. 

The government is also making a panel of 10 water meter making companies and consumers will be free to install water meter of their choice.
