DJB restores water supply to North Delhi colonies

Bringing relief to residents of North Delhi colonies, including Civil Lines, Kamla Nagar, Karol Bagh and Pahar Ganj, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Sunday finished repairing a damaged pipeline supplying water to these areas.

These areas were not getting water since Saturday. The task of repairing the pipeline and restoring the water supply to the affected areas, which also included Patel Nagar, Old and New Rajender Nagar, Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inder Puri and adjoining colonies, was completed in 24 hours, DJB said.

A portion of the pipeline, which emanates from the Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant and supplies water to the central and west <g data-gr-id="13">Delhi,</g> was damaged near Azad Market here on Saturday morning, DJB said in a statement. As a result Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant had to be shut down, during repairs, leading to water supply being temporarily affected in the above areas as well as parts of NDMC and Delhi Cantonment, it said.
