Discom audit: CM assures CAG of full cooperation

Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal along with power minister Satyendra Jain met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Shashi Kant Sharma in his office on Tuesday. In the meeting the Chief Minister assured full cooperation to CAG for audit of the three power distributing companies (DISCOMS) in the city. “The Chief Minister made a reference of the CAG audit of DISCOMS and assured full cooperation from the new government. We will provide all the records we have at our end and also built pressure on power companies to provide the records sought by the CAG, at the earliest,” said Nagender Sharma, media advisor to the chief minister. He, however, maintained that the government has no jurisdiction to direct the CAG to complete the audit nor does it intend to do so. “We hope the CAG will complete the audit and submit the final report within the upcoming financial year 2015-16,”he added.
