Disability dept gets first secretary

Finally the newly created Department of Disability under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment gets a secretary. Millennium Post had earlier reported that bureaucrats were not too keen on taking up this post.
Stuti Narain Kackar, a 1978-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been posted as secretary, Department of Disability Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
After K M Acharya's retirement, Anil Goswami (special secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs) had taken charge as the secretary of both the Department of Social Justice as well as the Department of Disability.
With the disability department made a separate entity on 14 May, there were constant talks of a separate secretary for the disability department.
