Dimapur case: Nagaland govt seeks CBI probe

The Nagaland’s government has recommended CBI inquiry into the March 5 Dimapur lynching case, Chief Minister T R Zeliang said on Thursday. The decision was taken by the Cabinet at a meeting held here on Wednesday night, Zeliang said. A mob had broken into Dimapur Central Jail on March 5, dragged out the rape accused Syed Farid Khan, stripped him naked, paraded him down the road and lynched him.

Khan, who hailed from Karimganj district of Assam, was arrested on rape charges.
