Dikshit reviews mid-day meal quality in city

In wake of the mid-day meal tragedy, in Bihar, where children lost their lives after having contaminated mid-day meanls, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday called a high level meeting to review the mid-day meal scheme in the national capital.

Delhi health minister A K  Walia, education and women and child development minister Kiran Walia and other senior officers attended the meeting. Sources said that the chief minister asked the concerned ministers and department officials to ensure a safe and healthy supply of mid-day meals in the government-run schools in the national capital.

‘On Tuesday the union HRD ministry had called a meeting of states on this issue,’ said Walia, adding that the centre has directed rest of the states to follow the procedure of the national capital for a safe mid-day meal supply.
