Dikshit, Mukesh Ambani on AAP graft radar

In this context Sisodia also hinted that AIIMS whistle-blower Sanjiv Chaturvedi could head the anti-corruption wing of the Delhi government. He could be appointed as the head of anti-corruption bureau of Delhi government.

Sisodia indicated that all such corruption cases which were registered during their 49-day rule last year would be taken to logical end. The Kejriwal government had ordered filing of an FIR on February 11 last year against then Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily, his predecessor Murli Deora, who is now dead, and RIL Chief Mukesh Ambani for alleged collusion in hike of prices in natural gas from the KG basin.

The then AAP government had also ordered a probe into street light purchase scam during the Commonwealth Games of 2010 in which then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s role had come under the scanner. On being asked about their road map, Sisodia said, “Sanjiv Chaturvedi is a very honest officer and it will be great if he joins.” Chaturvedi, a Haryana cadre forest service officer is currently on deputation to Health ministry in the Union Government.

Chaturvedi, who is serving as Additional Secretary at AIIMS presently, was removed from the post of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) last year. Chaturvedi, had exposed several scams while posted in Haryana, was removed from the post of CVO at the AIIMS in August last year. His sacking led to a huge protest by the AAP which accused the Modi government of removing him at the behest of some BJP leaders.

The AAP then protested against this action by then Union health minister Harshvardhan and demanded resignation for “victimising an honest officer at the behest of BJP members”. J P Nadda, BJP general secretary and now the Union health minister, had written to the department of personnel and training last year objecting to Chaturvedi’s appointment as both deputy secretary and CVO.
