Digvijay defends Akhilesh

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Thursday sought to defend Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on the grim law and order situation and said it would take him some time to settle down.

'Uttar Pradesh is a very big state and he is a young leader...I am hopeful that he would soon get the hang of it and live up to the expectations of the people who voted for him,' Digvijay Singh told reporters here.

The Congress leader was in Uttar Pradesh capital with regard to the presidential poll. 'It takes some time to get accustomed to things,' he said.

 'I am sure the government is taking note of the things and things will soon improve,' he said.
