‘Didn’t give Aparshakti any tips for Dangal’

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana says that he didn’t give his brother Aparshakti any tips for his Bollywood debut in Aamir Khan’s Dangal as he felt he was well-equipped for the role.

“I haven’t given him any tips. He’s very different from me, that’s why he’s going for Dangal film. Till today I haven’t done such a big film as much as what he’s doing,” said Ayushmann.

Ayushmann, who’s known for his hit Punjabi numbers such as Pani Da Rang, Saddi Gali and Mitti Di Khusboo feels his brother’s proficiency with Haryanvi dialect was a major factor for his selection for the role.

“My Punjabi is better, his Haryanvi is better. He’s good with Haryanvi because he has captained the under-19 Haryana cricket team, so he’s good with the language.

“He was the sports captain of his school so he’s physically very fit, very strong and that’s why he’s there in Dangal for sure. I think he’s apt for the character,” he said.

Aparshakti is a radio jockey and is involved with theatre. Incidentally, Ayushmann too had a similar start to his career before bagging his debut hit Vicky Donor.

Dangal, slated to release during Christmas week of 2016, sees Aamir Khan as a Haryanvi wrestler over different age periods. Aamir has put on a lot of weight to essay the older character of the wrestler and had recently injured his shoulder during the shooting in Punjab.

Ayushman Khurana was last seen in the movie Nautanki Saala.
