Dhaka mayor to take leaf out of KMC book

Dhaka North City corporation mayor Anisul Haque with a team of six officials met mayor Sovan Chatterjee in Kolkata on Tuesday.  

Sources said Haque was busy in a 25-minute meeting with Chatterjee, where he discussed about the city’s traffic management, waste management and health facility. He also appreciated the efficiency of civic authorities for delivering services.   

After the meeting, Chatterjee showed various departments of Kolkata Municipality to Haque and his team. Haque said, “I have seen many things in Kolkata. I will try to do the same in Dhaka. There are many things to learn from here.”      

On the other hand, Chatterjee said, “Dhaka mayor is in Kolkata. I took him to show various departments of municipal corporation. They are here to take some idea about management in the city which they can effectively apply for the development in Dhaka. In the same way, we will also try to adopt some good things from Dhaka.”
