DFCCIL acquires land for frieght corridors

The sixth annual general meeting [AGM] of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited was held on 26 September at Rail Bhavan under the chairmanship of Vinay Mittal, chairman, Railway Board.

Vinay Mittal, chairman, Railway Board and chairman, DFCCIL while addressing the shareholders informed that land acquisition activity on the DFC Corridors has been taken forward, with remarkable perseverance. Despite the complicated procedure, numerous clearances involved and tackling various social issues after reconciling the sensitive concerns of project affecting people with a cautious and people friendly approach, almost 100 per cent of land has been acquired for Phase-I where tenders for 1000- route kilometre are in the process.

He also said that a decision has also been taken to eliminate all 1056 level cr ossings through innovative engineering solutions on Eastern & Western Corridor where the existing rail tracks are parallel to the DFC alignment. He acknowledge the dedicated, concerted and sincere efforts put in by all officers and employees of DFCCIL and the support extended by the ministry of railways, other ministries under government of India, state governments and its departments. He further said that with our dedicated efforts it would be possible to achieve the mission of the company by pursuing the company’s motto of sincerity, speed and success.
