Development my top priority: Akhilesh

Addressing his first rally in Saharanpur, which was considered crucial after the Muzaffarnagar riots, Mr Yadav highlighted the various developmental projects that the ruling Samajwadi Party government was implementing for the advancement of the state.

The UP CM made it clear in his speech that development was the prime agenda of his government. He also mentioned a number of beneficial schemes and claimed that the peoples’ money was being spent on the right direction unlike the previous Mayawati government that misused money on parks and memorials and played caste-based politics by naming them after dalit leaders.

Mr Yadav inaugurated the much-awaited medical college in the name of Maulana Mehmood Hassan amid the presence of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Jamiyat Ulema-e-Hind national president Maulana Arshad Madni, cabinet minister Balram Singh Yadav and senior minister Mohammad Azam Khan. The super-specialty hospital equipped with modern equipments would ensure better medical services to the people, specially the financially weaker and the farmers, he said.

‘Ms Mayawati dumped a number of developmental projects, including the construction of the super-specialty hospital here and drained funds in other direction,’ the UP CM alleged.

He charged previous Mayawati government for halting construction of medical colleges and hospitals in Kannauj, Azamgarh and Jalaun districts of UP.
