Development authorities get new chairpersons

The West Bengal government on Wednesday appointed new chairpersons for development authorities functioning under the urban development department.

Urban development and municipal affairs minister Firhad Hakim will be the chairman of Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority and Furfura Sharif Development Authority. Transport minister Suvendu Adhikari has been appointed chairman of the Haldia Development Authority and fisheries minister Chandranath Sinha in Sriniketan-Santiniketan Development Authority.

Tapas Banerjee has been appointed as the chairperson of Asansol-Durgapur Development Authority (ADDA) and Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay has become the chairperson of Burdwan Development Authority. Wilson Champramari has become the chairperson of Jaigaon Development Authority in Alipurduar.

Mrigen Maity is now the chairperson of Medinipur- Kharagpur Development Authority. Bankim Hazra and Ashis Banerjee become the chairpersons of Gangasagar Bakkhali development authority and Tarapith rampurhat development authority.
